Chloe Audrey Lee fooled me. She didn’t mean to, but she did.

When I first started exploring Facebook I met people by joining book lovers groups, then ask the members to be my friend based on our common interest in books.

That is how I met Chloe.

When I looked at her profile I saw she was interested in history, literature, traveling, music, and stuff like that. I didn’t do the math to figure out her age. It didn’t seem relevant.

We started exchanging ideas about history, philosophy, and world affairs. She was obviously bright, well read, and thoughtful.

From these discussions I guessed she was around eighteen or nineteen years old, but I didn’t give it much thought. I enjoyed exchanging ideas with her. She impressed me with her maturity.

Gradually it occurred to me that she wasn’t as old as I had thought. I was astounded to learn she was only fourteen years old at the time I first met her. I could hardly believe it.

I continue to be very impressed with this young woman. I have learned a lot from her, particularly about life in China (Hong Kong). We have had so many interesting written conversations.

She is definitely one of my Facebook friends who has had much to teach me. She has made my life more interesting.

I will always value her friendship.
